From Mourning to Consolation

From the depth of our mourning on Tisha B'Av we began the period of consolation. Over the seven weeks between Tisha B'Av and Rosh HaShana we read the haftarot of nechama - the words of consolation by the prophet Yishayahu.

The prophecies of nechama center on rebuilding our relationship with God in the aftermath of the destruction of the Temple, rebuilding ourselves as a nation, reconnecting with the Land of Israel, and learning about the true meaning of redemption.
